Chala Hunter is a bilingual Intimacy Coordinator, Actor, Writer and Producer, originally from Treaty 6 territory- Saskatoon, SK. She is a graduate of the National Theatre School and has performed in theatres across Canada.
As an Intimacy Coordinator, she most recently worked on Jacob Tierney's hotly anticipated show for Crave, Heated Rivalry.
She was a writer and assistant to Showrunner Adam Pettle for NURSES (Global) and BURDEN OF TRUTH (CBC) and assistant to director Michael Dowse for Warner Bros 8-BIT CHRISTMAS. She was an associate producer on feature film SIMULANT, (2023), with Wango Films, starring Sam Worthington, Simu Liu, Robbie Amell and Jordana Brewster and completed the CMPA Producer's mentorship program in 2024, with Wango Films. Her first short, MOON DOG, starring Martha Burns, screened at The Canadian Film Festival and the National Screen Institute. P!GS, a film she directed, premiered at Caribbean Tales Film Fest and was purchased by CBC Gem.
Chala is currently working as the Intimacy Coordinator on Quinn Shephard's new show, The Body, for Netflix. She is writing, studying and observing the changing of the seasons.
